Prototype guitar "the Polytech Robert Goulet" electric guitar CANADA RARE. Not named for the actor, but for a guitarist, likely with some design input.
It came to me through family and has a Canadian connection. As far as I can tell, this is the third of its kind to come to market. Apparently this was a "prototype" guitar from a company in eastern Canada and had a limited production and distribution run in 1977. As I know it, a few music stores across Canada where given these guitars to endorse. This one came through Long and Mcquade in Vancouver BC.
The guitars never went into production and this guitar has sat in a case for the last 40 plus years. Its said that the finger board is ebony and the neck was made from wood from the Black Forest of Bavaria, or something. The wood body is wrapped in a telex-like material and sealed at the joint by a silver binding that runs around the entire body.
The pick-ups are pre-amped and require batteries and resemble a crude attempt at the P-90. Please have a good look at the pics, feel free to ask questions and I'll try to offer an answer. Do some research yourselves and we'll compare notes later. This is a very rare guitar!
